I have seen this somewhere before. Oh yes it started about two years ago in Arizona. Most of Arizona's High country (elevation of 5000' to 10,000') residents were outraged and have been fighting this problem tooth and nail. As individual people not much progress was being made then a few ATV clubs had stepped in to help. they have greatly slowed the progress of the Forrest service road closures (wooo hooo).
Forest officials open road talks
Here is a person who has a way with words and they cant be any further from the truth. For example, about 13 years ago there used to be a good 4 wheeling/ riding area for off-road enthusiastsonly 5 miles from town. This place had many trails/roads for hill climbing, jumping, and even a couple of amature built race tracks for motorcycles and ATV's. To many people were driving off trail partying it up and leaving their trash so guess what, that's right the forrest service shut it down. Now there is an ATV trail head there with no access to the good stuff which is now accessable by horse, bicycle or foot only.
Some authorities are starting to make trails accessable to more OHV users.
